Privacy & Your Data
Patriot Time exists so Guard and Reserve members can keep track of the unpaid time they give. Here is exactly what it stores and who can see it, in plain English.
Keep it unclassified
Never enter classified, sensitive, or operational details in your notes: no locations, movements, unit readiness, names of people, or anything you wouldn't post on a public bulletin board. A note like "planned next month's training schedule" is plenty.
What we store
- Your name, email address, username, branch, and rank.
- Your time zone, so sessions land on the right day.
- Your timer sessions: start and stop times, durations, and the notes you type.
- Your password and security-question answers, stored only as one-way hashes. Nobody, including us, can read them back.
What we don't do
- No ads, no analytics trackers, and no selling or sharing your data with anyone.
- No email. We never send you messages, which is why password recovery uses security questions.
- No connection to any military or government system. Nothing here is reported to your unit.
Who can see your hours
Only you, when you're signed in. Other users can never see your sessions or notes. Nothing leaves the app unless you export or show it to someone yourself.
The person who operates this site has technical access to the database in order to run and fix the service. That access is not used to read your entries, but you should know it exists. It's one more reason to keep notes unclassified.
Where it lives
Your data is stored in Microsoft Azure data centers in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. On your device, the app keeps a sign-in cookie plus your theme and sound preferences.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time from Account → Danger Zone. That immediately and permanently removes your profile and every session you've logged. Copies in routine encrypted backups expire on their own within 30 days.
